past tense verbs

Yesterday I talked to my friend. (talk)

This morning I brushed my teeth. (brush)

Play play + ed = past tense – played

I swam in the ocean when I was 11. (swim)

Last week I read a book. (read) 

The past tense of read is spelled the same, BUT it sounds like RED!
